This is an example proving youtubers have low IQ. The reason runners stay in the pack is to avoid wind resistance which saves stamina. The winners actually had intelligent strategies and WON THE RACE. The front runner strategy only works if you can lap the runners and coast behind the group avoiding wind resistance.

I remember when i was 11-15 years old and used to run cross country. I used to always pace myself with the pack and try to reserve some energy for the end sprint but there was always a few people would beat me. Out of maybe 80-100 runners I usually finished between 4th-10th, but the last year of high school I was tripped up right at the beginning, landed in a massive muddy puddle and was trampled by the crowd of runners behind me. When I got up I was dead last, cut and bruised, covered in mud and the leaders had already got a massive lead. For a split second I just wanted to quit right there and then, but I saw my PE teacher and friends watching at the side willing me on. I felt like I had sprinted the whole rest of the way, as if I had found some will and determination from somewhere I'd never discovered. I just kept passing people until I was approaching the finish line. When I crossed it I just collapsed and lay there feeling as if I could just die there and then. When I finally was helped to my feet and told I'd finished in 2nd, I just thought…"What, How?"
I thought I'd maybe made top 10 if I was lucky, but second was crazy!
Unfortunately I gave up running at 16 to focus on other things, but I always wondered after if I'd given it everything from the beginning without being tripped up, maybe I could have won 🙃

Particaption not elite athleticism is why they dont deserve equal pay. Boys little league sports has more action than professional womens competition. How is strategy if she didnt even come in top 3.
